A
new year has just begun and our ministry here in Fiji has
once again started up. This year we'll be foucusing mainly
on the indian settlements more then the fijian villages.
This because of the fact that the indians have very
little knowledge about Christ. About 4-5 % of the indian
population (which is around 45 % of the total number) has
a personal relationship with the Lord. We also want to get
away from the "beaten track" which means to get
further inside, into the interior of Viti Levu. We would
also like in the future to setup a nother medical team in
Vanua Levu, which is the northern main island.
This change in focus might mean that we can not serve as
many as the almost 5000 patients we treated last year. It
takes more planning and traveling then if we would continue
to serve communities around Lautoka. But for us the number
of patients is not at all as important as knowing we do
what God want us to do.
One of the last places we made outreach to last
year was Tavarau. From the two days of medical outreach,
six families came to the Lord and are now starting to look
for a property to be able to build a church, the first church
in this area!
